Instruction of vortex flowmeter and its installation

 

Working principle

Vortex flowmeter is a volume flowmeter that studies and produces the volume flow of gas, steam or liquid, the standard volume flow or the mass flow according to the Karman vortex principle. The principle of vortex flowmeter is the use of piezoelectric stress sensor, which has high reliability and can work in the working temperature range of -20℃~+250. It has analog standard signal and digital pulse signal output. It is easy to use with digital systems such as computers. It is a relatively advanced and ideal measuring instrument. According to different media and different environments, there are many types to choose from, such as: steam vortex flowmeter, plug-in vortex flowmeter, pipeline vortex flowmeter, etc.

 

Features:


  1. No moving parts, long-term stability, simple structure for easy installation and maintenance;
  2. The output of the sensor is pulse frequency, its frequency is linear with the actual flow of the measured fluid, zero drift without drift, the performance is very stable, the structure is diverse, there are pipeline type, plug-in flow sensor;
  3. High accuracy, usually the measurement accuracy of liquid is ±1.0%; the measurement accuracy of gas is ±1.5%;
  4. The measuring range is wide, and the Reynolds number can reach 1:20 within the range of 2*1047*106;
  5. The pressure loss is small (about 1/41/2 of the orifice flowmeter), which belongs to the energy-saving flow meter;
  6. Flexible installation method, according to the on-site process pipelines, it can be installed horizontally, vertically and at different angles;
  7. Using the interference elimination circuit and anti-vibration sensor head, it has a certain anti-environmental vibration performance;
  8. Using ultra-low power microprocessor technology, one 3V10AH lithium battery can be used for more than 5 years;
  9. The non-linearity of the instrument coefficient is corrected by the software to improve the measurement accuracy;
  10. Use EEPROM to protect the accumulated flow from power failure, the design protection time is more than 10 years;

Installation requirements:

 

1. Pipeline situation

The installation of vortex flowmeter requires a certain straight pipe section before and after, the common situation is as follows (D is the diameter of the pipe):

 

2. Installation conditions

The sensor should be installed on the horizontal, vertical, inclined (liquid flow from bottom to top) on the same diameter as the pipeline. The upstream and downstream of the sensor should be configured with a straight pipe section of a certain length, and its length should meet the requirements of the front straight pipe section 15-20D and the rear straight pipe section 5~1OD.

The pipeline near the liquid sensor should be filled with the liquid to be measured.

 

The sensor should be avoided to install on the pipeline with strong mechanical vibration.

 

The inner diameter of the straight pipe section should be consistent with the sensor diameter as much as possible. If it is not consistent, a pipe with a diameter slightly larger than the sensor diameter should be used. The error should be 3% and not exceed 5mm.

 

The sensor should be avoided to install in the occasion with strong electromagnetic field interference, small space and inconvenient maintenance.
