The orifice flowmeter is a high turndown differential pressure flow device composed of a standard orifice plate and a multi-parameter differential pressure transmitter (or differential pressure transmitter, temperature transmitter, and pressure transmitter). It is used to measure gas, Steam, liquid and induced flow. Orifice flowmeter means that when the fluid passes through the orifice plate throttling device on the pipeline, a pressure difference will be formed before and after it. The size of the pressure difference is related to the flow rate of the fluid flowing through. After measuring the pressure difference according to this principle, the flow totalizer can display the flow.

In the actual application process of the orifice gas flowmeter, such as the measurement of air, gas, and steam, because there is water vapor in the measurement medium, when the temperature decreases or the pressure rises, the water vapor will form water, which often gathers in front of the metering orifice. , Resulting in measurement errors. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the influence of the water accumulated in front of the orifice plate on the measurement results and deal with it in time.
Treatment measures for orifice gas flow meters;

1. Discharge the condensed water in the pipeline in time. The installation of a drainage device is the main measure to prevent the pipeline from being blocked by the accumulation of water. On the one hand, the pipe slope and the distribution of drainage devices should be reasonably designed, and regular maintenance and inspection should be carried out. The differential pressure transmitter should avoid a large amount of water to block the pipe. The timely discharge of condensate also reduces the humidity of the pipeline, slows down the corrosion of the pipeline by the condensate and other impurities, thereby improving the accuracy of the measurement data.

2. The easiest way to solve the problem of water accumulation in front of the throttling element is to open a drain hole in the lower part of the throttling element. Install the throttling device on the vertical process pipeline, or use a round missing orifice plate or an eccentric orifice plate instead. The uncertainty of the eccentric orifice is smaller than that of the circular orifice.

If there is water in the pipeline during the use of the above-mentioned intermediate orifice flowmeter, it will affect the measurement results and produce measurement errors. Therefore, it is necessary to avoid this measure and find a solution.
