With the increase of the cost of steam flow meters, higher requirements are put forward for the measurement of flow meters. The temperature and pressure compensation of pipeline flow measurement are gradually accepted and recognized by manufacturers. In actual use, the steam rises slowly due to the high temperature of the steam, and the steam meter fluctuates. At this time, it is necessary to design a device with temperature and pressure compensation to compensate for this phenomenon. The temperature and pressure compensation steam meter just makes up for this shortcoming. Someone wants to ask, what is good about the temperature and pressure compensation steam meter?

The outstanding performance of temperature and pressure compensation steam flow meters is mainly reflected in the following three points

(1) The upstream and downstream straight pipe sections are insufficient. For traditional vortex or orifice flow meters, straight pipe sections are required to be installed before and after 20D and 5D respectively. If the upstream and downstream straight pipe sections are insufficient, the fluid will not develop fully, and turbulence and velocity profile distortion will occur. The distortion of the velocity profile is usually caused by a partial blockage of the pipe (such as a valve) or elbow, while the vortex is usually caused by two or more elbows in the space #hc360 broken page (solid). The shortcomings of the upstream and downstream straight pipe sections can be adjusted by installing flow regulators. (2) The turndown ratio is insufficient. But you must be cautious in terms of turndown, because turndown is based on the actual flow rate. The maximum allowable speed of the steam system is generally 35m/s. Higher flow rates will cause corrosion and noise in the system. However, the minimum flow allowed by different flow meters is different. Generally, the minimum steam flow measured by a vortex flowmeter is 2.8m/s. When the turndown ratio is insufficient, a flowmeter with a large turndown ratio or multiple flowmeters in parallel should be used.
