Analysis of principle and characteristics of magnetic level gauge

The liquid level gauge is a measuring instrument used to measure the liquid level in containers, tanks and pipelines in industries such as industry, food industry and biological pharmaceutical industry. Generally, the high and low position of the measured liquid in the container is called the liquid level, so the instruments for measuring the liquid level are collectively called the liquid level gauge. The level gauge is one of the most widely used instruments in the level instrument. Its types include floating ball level gauge, glass tube level gauge, magnetic flap level gauge, ultrasonic level gauge, radar level gauge, etc. Next, this paper will focus on the principle and characteristics of ultrasonic level gauge, floating ball level gauge and magnetic flap level gauge.
1、 Ultrasonic level gauge
Principle: The transducer (probe) sends out high-frequency ultrasonic pulse, which is reflected back when it meets the surface of the measured medium, and part of the reflected echo is received by the same transducer and converted into electrical signal.
Features: The ultrasonic level meter has high accuracy, and is a non-contact, high reliability, high cost performance, and easy to install and maintain level measuring instrument.
2、 Float level gauge
Principle: put a hollow floating ball into the liquid. When the liquid level changes, the floating ball changes with the change of the liquid level. The position of the floating ball can be measured by mechanical or electrical methods through the magnetic sensor in the middle of the floating ball. In other words, in fact, the principle of float level gauge is based on Archimedes principle. When the liquid level of the container changes, the floating ball also moves up and down. Due to the magnetic effect just mentioned, the reed tube of the floating ball level gauge is magnetically attracted, so that the resistance in the sensor changes linearly. Then the converter converts the change of the resistance value into a 4mA~20mA standard DC signal output to realize the remote detection and control of the liquid level.
Features: high accuracy, switch control and continuous output mode at the output end. With simple structure and high performance-price ratio, it is suitable for liquid level measurement in electric power, metallurgy, paper making, food, chemical industry, industrial sewage treatment and other industries.
3、 Magnetic flap level gauge
Principle: The magnetic flap level gauge is based on the principle of connecting device and magnetic coupling to realize the real-time measurement of liquid level. When the measured liquid level rises and falls, the magnetic float in the float will also rise and fall, and the permanent magnetic steel in the float will drive the magnetic flap outside the float to turn 180 ° through magnetic coupling. The two sides of the flap are painted with white and red respectively. When the liquid level in the container rises, the flap changes to red; When the liquid level drops, the flap changes to white, and the red-white junction of the indicator is the actual height of the liquid level in the container. When it is necessary to transmit and output, a reed remote transmitter can be configured to realize the remote transmission and output of 4~20mA or 0~10mA current signals.
