Introduction to the types and characteristics of non-contact liquid level sensors

Non-contact sensors generally refer to three-dimensional space tracking locators, which can detect in real time the value of a moving object relative to a fixed object in six degrees of freedom, that is, the position value on the X, Y, and Z coordinates, and the surrounding Rotation values for the X, Y, and Z axes.
These sensors have been developed to require less maintenance as the firm’s fixed parts are used for scanning. The technology used in a particular environmental sensor depends heavily on the monitored parameter or condition (such as temperature, pressure, vibration, position, etc.).
The non-contact liquid level sensor is one of many types of non-contact sensors. The following briefly introduces the types and characteristics of non-contact liquid level sensors.
There are three types of non-contact liquid level sensors: capacitive liquid level sensor, ultrasonic liquid level sensor and separated photoelectric liquid level sensor. Their common development feature is that they are not affected by the color, corrosiveness, pressure, density, etc. of the liquid, because these sensor technologies cannot directly cause contact with the liquid, so they are more hygienic, and the container needs data cleaning, liquid filling, etc.
1. Ultrasonic liquid level sensor
Ultrasonic liquid level sensors detect liquid levels based on the principle of sound wave reflection. The biggest advantage is that it can detect the change of liquid level in real time, which is impossible for other two non-contact liquid level sensors. Since the sensor can convert the water level into data, the user can clearly know the remaining water in real time. The accuracy of the ultrasonic liquid level sensor can reach ±2mm, with high precision, it can detect the liquid level very accurately.
2. Capacitive liquid level sensor
Capacitive liquid level sensors are mainly used in the field of household appliances because of their small size and low price. If the capacitive liquid level sensor is installed on the valve body, the container can move freely. For example, capacitive liquid level sensors detect low liquid levels in aromatherapy machines. When the sensor detects that there are only 20ml of fragrance left in the bottle of the aromatherapy machine, it will send out a signal to remind. After the device receives the signal, turn on the buzzer to alarm or light up the reminder. Users can then remove the bottle to add liquid, or simply replace another bottle with a new one.
3. Separate photoelectric liquid level sensor
The separated photoelectric liquid level sensor has the characteristics of all photoelectric devices, is resistant to high temperature, high pressure, and corrosion, and has high liquid level control accuracy, which can control the liquid level within ±1mm. The separated liquid level sensor is also treated with resin sealant, and there are no moving parts inside, which has high reliability. Due to its small size, high precision, and high reliability, the separated photoelectric liquid level sensor is also widely used in household appliances, medical industry and other fields.
