Common types and principles of float type liquid level switches

Principle of Floating Ball Level Switch
The technical advantages of a float type liquid level switch: The float switch does not contain components such as bellows, springs, and seals that cause faults to occur. But instead, a straight float is used to drive the internal magnet of the switch, and the simple lever of the float switch makes the switch act instantly. The cantilever angle limit design of the float prevents the float from being vertical.
Design one or more magnetic spring switches inside a closed metal or plastic tube, and then pass the tube through one or more hollow floating rings with ring shaped magnets inside. Use a fixed ring to control the floating ball and magnetic spring switch in the relevant positions, so that the floating ball can float up and down within a certain range. Use the magnet inside the float to attract the contact point of the magnetic spring switch, generate opening and closing actions, and control or indicate the liquid level. Figure 1 shows the relevant positions of the float switch when normally closed (NC) and normally open (NO).
Classification of float type liquid level switches
1. Stainless steel float switch
The universal stainless steel float level switch provides two configurations for vertical and horizontal installation, using one 30VA or 100VA reed switch output, which can reliably detect the level of relatively clean water, diluted chemicals, and light oil. Applicable media include deionized hot water and edible oil. Stainless steel liquid level sensors can be installed vertically inside storage tanks or horizontally on tank walls for high or low level alarms
2. Linkage float level switch
The connecting rod float level switch set can reliably detect multi-point liquid levels of relatively clean water, diluted chemical solvents, and light oil, with a maximum range of 8 ‘(2.44 meters). Using 1-5 reed switch outputs, there is an integrated wiring terminal inside the integrated containerized junction box. The float level switch is made of stainless steel material and is suitable for liquid level measurement in high-temperature or high-pressure process storage tanks.
3. Magnetic levitation ball level switch
Float switches are often used in tank level control. No external power supply, side or top installation, wide temperature and pressure range, diverse process connections, stainless steel liquid connection and explosion-proof design, suitable for a wide range of applications.
4. Side mounted float switch
Magnetic side mounted float switches are often used in tank level control. The side mounted floating ball switch does not have an external power supply, and is installed on the side or top. It has a wide temperature and pressure range and a variety of process connections. The stainless steel wetted part and explosion-proof design make it a widely applicable floating ball level switch.
5. Cable float level switch
The float level switch has two chambers, and a special process is used to completely seal the cable float switch during processing. Different switching points can be adjusted through the counterweight at the cable end. The non-toxic and mercury free properties make cable float level switches suitable for use in drinking water.
6. Multi point stainless steel float switch
Float switches are used for FM and CSA certified explosion-proof applications and general environmental applications. The float switch provides up to 4 switch points and can be used for remote equipment inspection and control in PLC or SCADA. Multi point stainless steel float switches are typically used in environments where high-temperature and/or high-pressure process tanks require explosion-proof certification.
