The application standards are clear. Customers want to be able to use the magnetic column level gauge as a portable stand-alone device, but occasionally they also need to be remotely applied. They need to be able to install the flowmeter on site and have access to the system’s remote maintenance data. This application involves an energy audit task, so a model with thermal energy integration is specified.
For the flowmeter, Huikeda instrument chose the BadgerMeter-DXN magnetic turning column level gauge. The meter is a hybrid device capable of measuring transit time and Doppler flow. In this case, a calorimeter option is provided, which helps calorie thermal energy measurement.

To ensure that the provided equipment can be used as a handheld device, the connection to the DXN meter must be simple and portable. For this reason, a single-wire Ethernet I/P connection was selected for DXN and connected to our UG1005 logging telemetry system. Through this communication protocol, information can be collected from DXN, including: flow rate, supply and return temperature, and signal strength, to provide all results and diagnostic information in real time, and record data every minute.
