Failure Analysis of Magnetic Level Gauge

1. Occasionally, it may be found that the float is not flexible enough to move up and down during on-site adjustment. This is mostly caused by improper installation. At this time, pay attention to whether the centers of the upper and lower flanges are on a line and whether they are perpendicular to the horizontal plane. Generally speaking, the best angle with the horizontal plane is not less than 87 degrees. If the deviation is large, it may affect the smooth movement of the float.2. The level gauge is adjusted normally, and it is found that the float has “sucked” in a certain position for a period of time after it is put into use. This is mainly caused when the level gauge is installed through the steel platform and is too close to the steel plate. Therefore, installation through the steel platform requires special attention to the distance between the pipe wall of the level gauge connecting pipe and the cutting edge of the platform. According to field experience, this distance of about 100mm can ensure that the magnetic float will not be affected.3. When the level gauge is put into use on site, pay special attention to opening the upper gate valve first, and then the lower gate valve. This is because the bottom of the connecting pipe of the level gauge is equipped with a thrust spring to protect the float. Otherwise, the effect of large differential pressure may break the float and make the level gauge unusable.4. After the level gauge has been used for a period of time, the float is difficult to float and the float is not flexible in movement. This is basically caused by iron filings or other dirt on the magnetic float. The medium can be drained first, and then the float can be taken out to eliminate the iron filings or other dirt on the magnetic float.5. If the closed glass tube used for on-site indication is broken due to transportation or other reasons, it can be replaced with a domestic glass tube. But it is best to vacuum. Also pay attention to whether the glass tube is vertical, so as not to affect the indication of the indicator.6. During the use of the level gauge, if the output signal produces frequent disturbances or interference pulses, it is necessary to check whether the signal cable shielding layer is reliably grounded, and whether the working connection resistance can meet the requirements. If the interference is still not completely eliminated, a signal isolator can be used to solve it.7. Pay special attention to the use of the level gauge. Do not use a strong magnet to pull the float up and down outside the connecting pipe for inspection, otherwise it will cause the magnetic float to magnetize and change its polarity, and even weaken the float, making it difficult to work normally.8. Choose intrinsically safe liquid level meter, especially pay attention to whether the impedance of the liquid level meter and the safety barrier match. Since the power supply voltage of this level gauge is 14.5-36VDC, which is less than the 14.5-45VDC of the general transmitter, it cannot work normally when the load is large.
