Magnetic flap level gauge: not restricted by IP54

According to the national standard GB/T  25153-2010 “Magnetic Float Level Gauge for Chemical Pressure Vessels”, the protection level of the display panel of the magnetic flap level gauge should not be lower than IP54, that is, as long as the magnetic flap level gauge is The protection level can reach IP54, which can reach the national standard.   Due to the complicated working conditions of the magnetic flap level gauges, they are generally installed outdoors and are often eroded by dust, moisture and rain.If the protection level of the display panel of the magnetic flap level gauge is not high enough, the water vapor in the humid air will easily enter the display panel, causing condensation, which will cause the display panel of the magnetic flap level gauge to become blurred and it is impossible to see the specific liquid level. Affect normal production; in addition, dust or impurities are also very easy to invade the display panel, making it difficult or even impossible to turn the film, resulting in incorrect liquid level indication, and bringing hidden dangers to safe production.Therefore, the protection level of the outdoor magnetic flap level gauge reaches IP54, which is far from meeting the requirements of working conditions.As far as the above-mentioned problems are concerned, if the protection level of the magnetic flap level gauge can be increased to IP66 or IP67, it will undoubtedly be of great significance to improve the reliability of the entire magnetic flap level gauge.Then here comes the point.How can the protection level of the magnetic flap level gauge be IP66 or IP67?Based on experience, we have summarized the following two most important aspects.1. Improve product structure design    In the dustproof and waterproof structure design of the product, due to the weakest joint surface, most of the dust, water vapor and impurities enter the product through the joint surface, so the joint surface design should be minimized.At the same time, in the manufacturing process, tolerances must meet the requirements, otherwise products with too large tolerances will appear cracks, causing dust and water vapor to enter; if the tolerances are too small, the contacts will be subjected to excessive force, resulting in product deformation and cracks.The second is to improve the sealing auxiliary processSince the product has a gap channel that connects the inside and the outside, dust and water vapor will enter the product along the gap channel during use, so it must be blocked by a sealing auxiliary process.The auxiliary sealing process mainly includes sealing ring, sealant, interference fit, waterproof and breathable membrane, welding and so on. When using a sealing ring or sealant, the selection of sealing accessories must meet the requirements of working conditions and environment, and special attention should be paid to the material characteristics such as the working temperature range and strength (yield strength) of the sealing accessories.For places with bolt connections, pay special attention to the design of the mounting screw holes on the outside of the product. They cannot be directly connected to the inside of the product, nor can they be connected to the holes inside the product.Practice has proved that as long as the structural design is improved and the sealing auxiliary process is improved, the protection level of the display panel of the magnetic flap level gauge can reach IP66 or IP67.

In addition, if conditions permit, glass seals can also be used, supplemented by vacuum pumps and nitrogen filling, which will have a better effect on improving the protection level of the magnetic flap level gauge.
