The automatic detection function and field application of Huikeda ultrasonic level gauge

Using an ultrasonic level gauge can obtain the most reliable distance reading while reducing or eliminating unwanted echoes. This can be done when the ultrasonic level gauge is set to the minimum power and sensitivity required to accurately read the target.

Huikeda’s ultrasonic level gauge has an automatic detection function, which can provide the best effect for stable and slow moving targets.

The automatic detection function can automatically adjust the blanking, sensitivity and pulse parameters to the minimum and optimal settings according to the signal strength of the return echo.

To set up the automatic detection function in the Vacorda ultrasonic level gauge, perform the following steps:

Step 1: Connect the RST-3001 module to the ultrasonic level gauge and computer. Open the software.

Step 2: After communication is established, enter 1 in the window labeled Gain Control.

Step 3: Click the Send tab. This will send the new parameters to the sensor.

After enabling automatic detection, the ultrasonic level gauge will continuously adjust its power and sensitivity settings to provide the best readings for accurate level measurement.

On May 15, 2012, a power failure caused a near-disaster in West Covina, California. The sewer pump no longer has electricity to keep the sewage at a safe level. Overflow is only a matter of time.

However, this time it will be different. About a year ago, in July 2011, D&D Engineering installed a sewer monitoring system called SL100. The system consists of a data logger, a cellular data modem, a backup battery and an ultrasonic level gauge from Huikeda.

The SL100 driven by Huikeda’s ultrasonic level gauge performed as expected. As the level began to rise, email notifications were automatically sent to maintenance employees in West Covina. This gave the city time to send a portable generator to bring the pump back online and prevent major leaks.

Preventing leaks saved West Covina residents from hazardous sewage pollution, protected the environment, and saved tens of thousands of dollars in fines and clean-up costs.
