Advantages of magnetic float level gauge under high temperature and high pressure conditions

In modern industrial sectors such as petroleum, chemical, and power, many production processes face severe challenges from high temperatures and high pressures. For example, equipment like coal tar hydrogenation units and power plant boilers often have internal media temperatures reaching hundreds of degrees Celsius and pressures reaching tens of megapascals. Under such extreme conditions, traditional glass level gauge are highly susceptible to rupture due to thermal stress and pressure shocks, leading to media leakage and even safety accidents. Magnetic float level gauge, due to their unique working principle and structural design, demonstrate significant advantages in this field.

Their core advantage lies in achieving "complete isolation between the process medium and the indicating unit." Magnetic float level gauge operate based on the principle of communicating vessels and magnetic coupling: their main tube is connected to the container, and the internal magnetic float rises and falls with the liquid level; through magnetic coupling, it drives the external tilting column or indicator to flip, thus clearly displaying the liquid level. In this process, only the metal main tube and float withstand the high temperature and pressure, while the glass indicating panel remains completely uncontacted by the process medium. This structure fundamentally eliminates the risk of glass shattering under high temperature and pressure, greatly improving the safety and sealing of the equipment, making it particularly suitable for flammable, explosive, or toxic media.

Magnetic float level gauge

To adapt to extreme operating conditions, modern magnetic float level gauge have undergone significant enhancements in materials and processes. Regarding temperature and pressure resistance, through the adoption of a special heat dissipation design, high-temperature resistant rare-earth magnets, and a fully welded metal cavity, high-end products can operate at temperatures exceeding 520℃ and pressures reaching 32MPa or even higher. Addressing the issue of demagnetization or material deformation due to high temperatures, manufacturers have ensured the magnetic coupling strength and long-term stability of the float under extreme environments by selecting high-temperature resistant permanent magnet materials and precision processes such as laser welding.

Furthermore, its ease of maintenance and functional expandability are also significant advantages. Because the indicating components are isolated from the media, maintenance and debugging can be performed without interrupting the process. Simultaneously, it can easily integrate modules such as magnetostrictive transmitters and level switches, enabling remote monitoring of liquid levels, upper and lower limit alarms, and automated control, meeting the needs of modern factory intelligent management.

Magnetic float level gauge

In conclusion, magnetic float level gauge, with their fully isolated safety structure, excellent temperature and pressure resistance, and flexible expandability, have become a reliable solution for level measurement under harsh conditions of high temperature and high pressure, providing strong protection for the safe and stable operation of industrial processes.
