What should I do if a side-mounted magnetic flap level gauge produces a false level? Jingzheng's editor states that every type of instrument encounters various issues during use, and this applies to side-mounted magnetic flap level gauges as well. For example, some customers who purchased a side-mounted magnetic flap level gauge reported occasional false levels during use. In reality, this situation is not at all complicated. What should be done when a false level occurs? There are several possible causes for false levels in side-mounted magnetic flap level gauges.
1. First, ensure that the liquid and gas phases are both connected! This is likely the cause of most cases, so pay special attention. Many seemingly difficult situations may actually have simple causes.
2. Run a magnet along the entire flap. If the problem lies with the magnetic flap or the panel, the issue can be easily resolved.
3. If the liquid is safe, drain the liquid phase first and proceed to step 2.
4. If the vapor pressure of the gas phase is high, close the gas phase valve, pressurize the liquid in the tube back into the storage tank, and proceed to step 2.
5. Excessive external interference signals can cause the circuit to generate false signals, not the actual measured signals.
6. Faulty waveguide wires in the level gauge, such as loose wires, poor seals, water ingress, and rust, can cause signal distortion.
7. Improper waveguide installation can distort signal transmission.
8. Faulty signal processing circuitry. This can also occur with remote-sensing magnetic flap level gauges. This can often cause discrepancies between actual on-site observations and the remote-transmitted signals.
