In recent years, domestically produced radar level gauges have made significant strides in technology, cost-effectiveness, and service, becoming the preferred choice for many industrial users in the field of level measurement. Compared to imported brands, domestic radar level gauges offer advantages primarily in the following areas:
A significant cost-performance advantage. Price is the most prominent competitive advantage of domestic radar level gauges, with price differences reaching 30% to 50%. Imported brands generally command higher prices due to factors such as substantial R&D investment, brand premiums, and tariffs; in contrast, domestic brands leverage localized supply chain advantages, allowing the unit price of entry-level models to fall within the range of just a few thousand yuan. Domestic products account for over 70% of the market share in the low-to-mid-range segment (unit prices below 15,000 yuan). Taking high-end 80GHz products as an example, the price of domestic units is 60% to 70% that of comparable imported products. This cost advantage is particularly pronounced in large-scale deployments—such as smart water management systems—that involve hundreds of monitoring points.
**Timely and efficient localized service.** After-sales networks for imported brands within the country are often less robust, resulting in longer response times and higher maintenance costs. In contrast, domestic brands offer more timely technical support and after-sales service, lower maintenance costs, and more convenient access to spare parts. Some domestic brands also support cloud-based remote commissioning, allowing manufacturer engineers to perform real-time fault diagnosis and parameter optimization via cloud platforms, thereby significantly reducing users' operation and maintenance costs.
**Technological capabilities achieving continuous breakthroughs.** Domestically produced radar level gauges now possess the technical prowess to compete with international brands. Regarding measurement accuracy, some high-end domestic products have achieved a precision of ±1mm to ±3mm. In terms of interference resistance, the use of built-in foam recognition and multi-echo processing algorithms enables effective performance under complex operating conditions—such as the presence of foam, agitation, or dust. Currently, domestic 80GHz high-frequency radar gauges have become the market mainstream; the overall market share of domestic brands in the radar level gauge sector has climbed from just over 30% in 2020 to more than 40% in the 2024–2025 period. In several large-scale chemical projects, domestic brands have been selected as direct replacements for imported brands.
In summary, for standard industrial applications, domestic radar level gauges have emerged as highly competitive alternatives to imported brands, thanks to their outstanding cost-performance ratio, timely localized service, and continuously improving technical capabilities.
